1. Galleries and museums, (LMF/4/1/1 - LMF/4/1/336), includes proposing or progressing exhibitions, building relations and viewing and supporting Freud's practice.
2. Cultural organisations and professionals, (LMF/4/2/1 - LMF/4/2/307), including from arts councils, art suppliers and art-related craftsman, conservators, photographers, authors, journalists, publishers, booksellers, auctioneers and dealers, productions companies, professional artists, active sitters, and colleges and universities, concerning various matters, including: interview requests, artwork transactions, transportation and enquiries, work undertaken and in progress.
3. Images, collected cuttings, exhibition related documents and photographs, (LMF/4/3/1 - LMF/4/3/50), which may have previously been attached to other professional correspondence.
4. Fan-mail and sitter requests, (LMF/4/4/1 - LMF/4/4/88).
5. Social, (LMF/4/5/1 - LMF/4/5/398), including letters, postcards and greetings cards. Some correspondence may be from people known to Freud originally through a professional capacity, but this category is determined by a primary social focus.
6. General and domestic administration, (LMF/4/6/1 - LMF/4/6/253), including bills, invoices, statements, domestic transactions and enquiries, architectural plans, family related documents, published articles and excerpts unrelated to artistic activities.
7. Exhibition and invitation cards to Freud's shows, and to the events of others.
