Each entry records client making the payment and/or sitter name and amount paid. There are columns for money in pounds [l]; shillings [s] and pence [d]. The running total for money is given at the bottom of each page and carried over to the next. In some instances Beechey has indicated the size of frame paid for, e.g. half length, 3 quarter length.

At the top of the next page, p. 7v, a short set of entries has been crossed out. These are headed '1798' and may follow on from earlier entries relating to miniatures completed by Lady Beechey between 1795 and 1797, which occur sporadically through pp. 5v-7. The entries relate to the following payments: -Of Mrs Stephens; -Of Mr Anderson.
