Description | Set of entries titled 'Frames paid for, 1807'.
Each entry records client making the payment and/or sitter name and amount paid. There are columns for money in pounds [l]; shillings [s] and pence [d]. The running total for money is given at the bottom of each page and carried over to the next. In some instances Beechey has indicated the size of frame paid for, e.g. half length, 3 quarter length.
Payments recorded on p. 6v, 1807: -Half length for the Prince of Wales; -Head carved frame with a coronett sent to P[rince]ss Sophia containing a portrait of her father [George III]; -Mr Webb; -Of Capt[ain] Stevenson for the D[uke] of Cumberland; -Mr Raikes.
Entries on p. 7: At the top of the page includes entry titled 1797, 'Miss Robinson', which has been struck through. This may relate to the preceding list of miniatures 1795-1796 on pp. 5v-6v.
The list dated 1807 continues on p. 7 thereafter, including payments recorded for: -Bishop of Chester;
Aug -Mr Agar; -Mr Brown for copy of his father; -Of Mr Claxton; -Of Mr Pearce 2 frames [Lionel Cust's transcription dated 1904 states the amount as 4].
There follows the usual total of the year's earnings (£65 and 1 shilling). |
