Description | At this point in the volume, the order of writing is reversed: entries have been completed from back of the volume towards the front, pp. 27-22v. The pages are catalogued using the same pagenation system as the preceding entries, but the page order will be reversed within entries when necessary (e.g. when a list has been made). Entries for the same year also appear to have been entered onto separate pages, alongside entries for later years. Aside from indications in the text, a lead has been taken from the chronological order communicated by Cust's 1904 transcription [see NPG8/3/26] and William Roberts' 1907 publication. Both organised the entries by year, regardless of the physical order of the pages the entries appeared on.
Page numbers have been catalogued in reverse order to preserve the internal order of the list, as written.

There is only one entry on p. 22v, which is in a lighter ink. It reads 'June. Bishop of Chester'. This entry has not been grouped with the 1789 account entries by either Cust in MS34 or by Roberts in 1907, so it would seem that this is not part of the preceding list. There are three other entries relating to a 'Bishop of Chester' within this volume, both dated 1807. See WB/1/3 (p. 7); WB/1/5 (p. 9, 13 Jun ) and WB/1/13 (p. 25). |
