Description | Draft of letter written in ink which acknowledges the receipt of a letter from Mr [Hary]. Romney reports that two portraits are almost finished; [Mr Hary’s] portrait is entirely finished with a waistcoat and sleeves which are gold upon a crimson ground, while ‘My Lady’s picture’ is almost finished. For the latter portrait, the petticoat is part lilac and silver however Romney would prefer a petticoat of white and gold or entirely gold of either satin or silk, to sit well against the sitter’s crimson robe. Romney requests that [Mr Hary] provide such a dress if possible. Romney then discusses other details of the dresses and provision.
