Description | The lists of engagements on these pages have not been titled, although they do follow the format of Professional Engagements listed throughout the book.
Entries run in chronological order from 24 January 1791 - 1 December 1791. Two entries for December 1791 continue overleaf to page 26v (see GRO/1/9).
Portraits referenced in the Engagements Book have been verified against Alex Kidson's 2015 catalogue raisonne of Romney's paintings, and where possible have been listed below to include full names and correct spelling in square brackets. Entries in square brackets alone do not cohere with the catalogue raisonne and appear as written. Duplicate mentions of the same sitter have been removed from the below list, which otherwise appears in original order.
