| Description | The lists of engagements on these pages have not been titled, although they follow the format of Professional Engagements listed throughout the book.
Entries run in chronological order from 13 January - 4 October 1790 (three entries for January 1790 appear on the previous page, 19r (see GRO/1/6)). Perhaps the lack of entries beyond this date can be explained by the last entry, which reads 'To send to Mrs Beckford as soon as Master gets well..'
Portraits referenced in the Engagements Book have been verified against Alex Kidson's 2015 catalogue raisonne of Romney's paintings, and where possible have been listed below to include full names and correct spelling in square brackets. Entries in square brackets alone do not cohere with the catalogue raisonne and appear as written. Duplicate mentions of the same sitter have been removed from the below list, which otherwise appears in original order.
