LevelSub-File
Extent3 pages
DescriptionPage 29r begins with an entry for 30 December 1793 (earlier entries for 1793 can be found on page 28, see GRO/1/10). Page 31r begins with an entry for 5 December 1794 and ends at an entry for 19 February 1795.

The lists of engagements on these pages have not been titled, although they do generally follow the format of Professional Engagements listed throughout the book. However, the entries on these pages also feature a few anomolies - including payments for kitchen candles, potatoes, and more entries regarding [potential] sitters' general contact with Romney, including notations of when clients beginning sitting and when they call Romney.

In an entry for 3 December 1794 (page 30v) the writer identifies himself as Richard Williams.

Portraits referenced in the Engagements Book have been verified against Alex Kidson's 2015 catalogue raisonne of Romney's paintings, and where possible have been listed below to include full names and correct spelling in square brackets. Entries in square brackets alone do not cohere with the catalogue raisonne and appear as written. Duplicate mentions of the same sitter have been removed from the below list, which otherwise appears in original order.
