Description | Pages 37v to 38 contain a list of accounts for works completed (in most cases portraits but some prints) and copyrights purchased in 1865. Each page has been divided into five columns which record the following: Column 1 - Number of portrait as assigned by Richmond Column 2 - Engraved, marked with an E if engraved and with a total of engravings at the bottom of each page Column 3 - Name of sitter or work Column 4 - Exhibited, R.A. (Royal Academy) marked next to those exhibited Column 5 - Price paid, with total of monies received at the bottom of each page

On page 38 Richmond writes he worked for many weeks (perhaps 7) on the marble of the Bishop of London monument, finishing all but the last few touches. He received £200, total payment for the statue was £7,200. Richmond also writes he made 10 small copies for Sir Thos. Aclands book of Grillions. He finally writes that due to his health he took hardly any appointments after April and gave up commissions to the amount of £2000. No detailed summary of 1865 is given but Richmond records 8 portraits, though he has not numbered all works undertaken, and the earnings of £1467.10.0. |
