In the first Watts asks for Taylor to visit him so they can discuss the subject of colour grinding as he is sure that given the right consistency the colours will be a great success and is certain that Sir W. Richmond will use them; Watts writes that he will not be in London for too much longer and sends back the colours samples supplied by Taylor; Watts requests 'Yellow Ochre, Naples Yellow, Burnt and Raw Umber and Raw Sienna, coarse'.

In the second Watts requests to 'have the talk about the colours' and asks Taylor to visit him on Saturday.
