Description | Typescript copy of letter.
Watts writes that he likes the coarsely ground colours but is worried that for colours he wishes to be 'very pure' the coarseness will make the surface gritty, attracting dust and dirt, spoiling the quality; Watts requests some stiff white and 'Naples Yellow' colour, and 'though smooth not ground to death!'; Watts remarks that it is better to use dark colours coarsely ground.
