Page numbers have been catalogued in reverse order to preserve the internal order of the list, as written. In Lionel Cust in his 1904 transcription of this volume and William Roberts in his 1907 publication on Beechey both treat the first section of entries on p. 26v as a continuation of the list of payments for 1789, which recommences on p. 22v of this volume (WB/1/12).
Each entry records client making the payment and the amount paid. There are columns for money in pounds [l]; shillings [s] and pence [d].
